    the sound of the void is a project to give body and sound abandoned industrial structures in Asturies, land in the north of the Iberian peninsula. Rough textures, rhythmic noises, and field recordings with a dark, gloomy and unfriendly air. This is a non profit tape. Only 10 copies.

The El Tarronal Mine in Mieres is one of the few Mercury Mines in Asturies, a mine that caused not only fatalities in work accidents, but also the continuous poisoning during decades of workers. "El Pozo esperanza" used mainly people from outside Asturies (Portugal, Galicia, Andalusia ...) to the necessity that made them accept the slow death sentence that this mine meant. The mine has been abandoned since 1974. If the work kills in El Terronal work was condemned to a slow death. Today the mine is declared a contaminated area but there is no protection measure. Apart from any nostalgic aspect of the industrial past of Asturies, this theme that recreates the sound implementation of the mine, is a denunciation of salaried work and the poison that is administered in the human being. Sonaramente the audio samples collected in situ are very processed and in fact they are not central part of what is heard in the subject. We do not care either. Above all we rely on noise generators reamplified and treated with many effects. It has a tribal aspect that is the human aspect, the rhythm that fights to get out of the tangle of industrial noise that eventually ends drowning it.
